The UTSC Library Makerspace is available to current UofT community members.

Equipment Policies

  • For equipment that is used outside of the Makerspace, it must be picked up & dropped off at the UTSC Library during Makerspace open hours. 
  • Remember to check that all the pieces are returned. You will be charged full replacement fees for lost, stolen or damaged equipment.
  • You can show up at any time during your booking; however, you cannot use the equipment beyond the allotted time.
  • 3 no-show bookings will result in the loss of Makerspace privileges for one month. If you cannot make your booking, please email us at makerspace.utsc@utoronto.ca.

Fees

  • 3D printing: $0.50 per 15 minutes for non-academic or non-entrepreneurial 3D printing (the first 10 hours are free)
  • Print-and-cut stickers: $1.25 fee per sheet (8.5 x 11, limit of 20 sheets per semester per user or group/club)
  • Card stock: $1 per sheet (12 free card stock sheets per semester per user or group/club)
  • Buttons: $0.25 per button (an additional $0.25 per page if the template is printed in the Makerspace)

Payment by debit/credit only.

3D Printing Policies

  • Users have 10 hours of free printing.
  • Users may not use their own filament.
  • The creation of any weapons, explosives, obscene materials or any object that may be dangerous or offensive to others is strictly prohibited.

Campus Groups

Groups and committees on campus are welcomed to work with the Makerspace for staff and student events. There may be a fee for material, depending on the event agenda. Email the Makerspace for more information.

Intellectual Property

Intellectual property laws in Canada govern the reproduction of material. When searching for material online, ensure that you are aware of any copyright restrictions.

Look for a Creative Common License or other Terms of Use information.
