Goodbye Cricut Maker, Hello Cricut Maker 3!
|
|
|
At the end of October our trusty Cricut Maker cut its last sticker. After a suitable troubleshooting and mourning period, we accepted that it was time to upgrade. We are thrilled to introduce our brand new Cricut Maker 3 for all your sticker, card making, and precision cutting projects!

iMac is Back and Better than Ever
|
|
|
|
Speaking of upgrades, our iMac has also been replaced with a newer and shinier model, which means that accessing the complete Adobe Creative Suite in the Makerspace is now easier (and faster!) than ever.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Students in PHYB10 have been hard at work 3D printing pieces of a metal detector, photometer, or seismometer for an upcoming lab. We wish them all the best in turning these 3D printed pieces into science!

Learn the basics for creating a Stop Motion video using the Stop Motion Studio app and a mobile phone or tablet. At the end of the workshop, you will have knowledge of the tools, software and steps needed to make a basic Stop Motion video. The best way to participate in the session is to download the app on your phone or tablet and follow the presentation on another device.

Introduction to 3D Design

This hands-on session introduces you to 3D design using Tinkercad, a free design platform that is great for beginners. At the end of the workshop, you will have created a basic object that is ready to be 3D printed. You are welcomed to use your own laptop.

Makerspace Stressbusters: Greeting Cards (in-person)

This stress-free workshop will have you creating a custom greeting card using templates and stickers cut out by our Cricut Maker. All materials provided.

What Are You Making?

Show us what you’ve been making! Throughout the semester we would love to know what you are making for class or just for fun. Submit a photo and a short description of your creation (e.g. what you did, what equipment you used, etc.).

Email us and include a photo and short description of your creation and we'll feature it in our next newsletter as well as highlight it on our website.
