Interested in making a short film? Familiar with stop motion?

Submissions are now being accepted for the UTSC Library Makerspace 2022 Stop Motion Film Festival. The submission deadline is March 2, 2022. The film festival will take place virtually on March 9, 2022 @ 2pm.

A $150 gift certificate will be awarded to the best film, to be determined by our panel of judges. There will also be consolation prizes.

UofT undergrad and grad students are welcomed to create a short film for our stop motion film festival. Stop motion is an animation film technique that makes objects appear like they are moving. Here are some examples:

Requirements:

– Participants must be current UofT undergraduate/graduate students.

– Participants can work in groups up to 4 people (all participants must be UofT students).

– The short film must be no longer than 90 seconds. 

– Submissions must be in MP4 format. 

– Any material (images, music, text, etc.) that is used must be original, royalty-free or participants have permission for their use.  Material must be properly credited.

– There is no theme restriction, but the movie content must be legal, with no discrimination and not offensive to others. 

– If dialogue is included, consider adding captions to reach a wider audience.
