Have an idea for a new board game?

The UTSC Library Makerspace is offering an exciting new program designed to help you create your own board game. Learn about the different components of a board game, along with online tools that can help you construct your game story. Plus, you will find out how Makerspace services such as 3D printing and Cricut can help you build your board game prototype. You will even learn how to 3D design a a game piece!

The sessions are interactive so be prepared to participate, and maybe even play a game or two. At the end of the program, you will have an opportunity to submit your board game proposal. Should your proposal be selected, you will receive a blank game board and box, plus free access to Makerspace materials and services.

  • Wednesday, November 1, 1:10-2pm (AC256, UTSC Library Makerspace)
    Learn about the different kinds of board games. We will discuss theme, mechanics, rules and components. We may even play a game! 
  • Wednesday, November 8, 1:10-2pm (AC256, UTSC Library Makerspace) 
    Learn about the various Makerspace tools that can help you build your board game, including 3D printing and Cricut Maker. You will also learn how to 3D design a game piece! 
  • Wednesday, November 22, 1:10-2pm (AC256, UTSC Library Makerspace) 
    Learn about Twine and other online tools designed to help you create your story and test your game prototype virtually with others.
